Recycling Key Part of Arizona's Broadway Curve Project →

Reduce, reuse and recycle: They're key to protecting natural resources and lessening the amount of trash in local landfills. They're also an important part of the Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. "We reuse as much as we can so nothing goes to waste,' said Kole Dea, senior resident engineer of the Arizona Department of Transportation. "If something can't go back into the project, then it's recycled." The Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP) once again came together at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, Ill., for the organization's 54th annual Convention and Miner Safety Conference Dec. 5 to 6, 2022. This event is one of the largest aggregate industry gatherings in the Midwest, with 57 of IAAP's associate member companies having booths in the expo. Ron Brenny is operations manager of the largest of seven scrap recycling yards owned by Cimco Resources in Illinois and Wisconsin. The 26-acre facility in Sterling, Ill., can receive as much as 800 tons of material a day, from plastics to electronic waste, but the bulk of it is destined for the site's Metso mega-shredder.
